I love teaching infants and toddlers in the aquatic environment and watching their proud parents’ reactions. Watching your child successfully swim and float for the very first time is right up there with their first step and word. It is truly amazing to see a baby roll onto their back and float; and be able to take a breath. With drowning being so prevalent in our area, we need to prepare children with the skills needed to survive in and around water. Watching children and helping them become competent in their skills in the water is so important to me. I am passionate about ISR and teaching other young children– it is so thrilling to know that your child is safer around the water!
I was an ISR swimmer myself taking lessons at 1 year old! Throughout the years I watched my mother teach ISR lessons every summer. I have always been so proud of her, especially hearing about the lives she has saved thanks to her teaching. I was amazed to see babies as young as 6 months learn aquatic self rescue skills. I was so impressed with the successful results that children had that I felt compelled to get certifed myself. I am happy to be an instructor and join in ISR’s mission to ensure that “not one more child drowns”.
I am a certified ISR instructor and have completed all required training hours. I am also certified by the American Heart Association in CPR and First Aid for adults, children and infants. I love working with children and babies and consider it a great privilege to be able to dedicate myself to such a worthy cause. I am honored to teach such an important life saving skill to the children of this community.
